Pertaining to religion and culture: Celebrated by most of people locally.


Past plus Present traditional trends:

Teej (Srawn maas ke shukl paks ki teesri taarikh): Peeng-patdi-kothli-gulgule-suwaali-ghewar-bataase-makhaane-shakkar-paare-saasu ka naak todna, baagon mein jhool padnaa, neem ko nimboli lagna, vatavaran mein sawn ke geeton ki lok-lahri ka tairna, e.g. “neema kai nimboli laagi saamniye kad aavega, meri maa ke jaaye ho tu kothli kad laavega......”

Rakhsha bandhan (Srawan maas ki Poornima): ponchi baandhna, bhaai ko teeka laga ke ponchi bandhna aur mithaai khilana, bhaai ka bahan ko shagun dena aur uski rakhsa ka vachan dohrana, rakhi ko googa peer ko baandhna: deru-dhol waalon ka mor pankhon ke saath gali-gali ghoom sawn aur googa ke geet gana

Janmastmi: Bithday of Lord Krishna

Dusshera (Ashwin maas ke shukl paks ki dasvi taarikh): sanjhi-rangoli, gobbar-gyaar-madkan-kapaas ki saanjhi banana, Moje-sutaare-rang-rang ki sanjhi banana, johad pe saanjhi ka buhana, rawan funkna, johad-kallar gouron pe khuliya laathi se chaand ki chandni raat mein geend khelna

Kartik Snaan: Gaon ki bahu-betiyaan raat ko toliyon mein gaon ke kuen-johad pe nahaane jaati thi, kaartik ke geet gaati aur naachti thi

Diwaali (Kartik maas ki amavsya): Heedo-kheel-khilone-maati ke diye-sarson ke tel

Eid: Celebrated by Muslim community of village, gale milne-milaane ka tyohaar

Deh-uthani gyaas (Mangsar maah ki gyrahvi taarikh): "Ole kole dharen janjeer, jiyo dulhan tere beere geet gana, baarat ke meethe chawaal dharna, fir baantna......"

Makar-Shakrant: Uthate hi sabse pahle snaan karna, daan-pun karna, gore pe pooli gerna, ghar ke baahar aag sulgana

Basant-Panchami: Peele chaawal khana

Holi-Phaag (Phalgun maas ki Poornima): Rang-korde, phaag, bheegna-bhigona, saattm ke meethe chawal khana

Seeli-Saattm:

Ramnavami: Birthday of Lord Rama

Mekh (Haryanvi version of Baisakhi): Celebrated on the occasion of crop ripe


Recent trends:

Diwali ke din phool-jon bhai ke sar pe warna, Srawan maah mein Haridwaar se kaawad lana
