Nidana' Folklores and Ragnies

Note: In order to make it an easy understanding of local phrases and words, "writing Hindi in English style" is used wherever found necessary.



Folklores (Lokgeet):


Lokgeets (Folklores) are sung as per occasion and season; these can be classified in different categories as follows: Saanjhi ke geet, Bandade-banddi ke geet, Jachcha ke geet, Janam-Chhati ke geet, Mrityu ke geet, Haryanvi Bhakti-Bhajan, Saawan ke geet, Googa-peer ke geet, Kartik-snaan ke geet, Holi-phaag ke geet, Desh-Bhagti Geet. Below is a categorical brief with examples:

  • Saang-Sagas: Various sagas and kisse.

  • Aalha {Veer-gathaayen (Epics), Vanshawali (Genealogies)}: A veer-gatha of Gathwala Khap is still sung by village artists, will soon be added to site

  • Googa ke savanye

  • Nihaal deh, naahar singh

  • Bum-lahri: Lord Shiv Bhagti Gatha - sung by gents (Jogies and Dooms) in past

  • Ragnies: Kisse (Fables), Futkaar, Deshbhagti (Patriotism)

  • Chhannn-Savvayen-Ulaahne:

    • Jwaar: Meethi re laage re jwaar teri raabdi, dal-chaakki haandi mein geri talle dei laakdi, raand-roond ke khaawan laagya ooper aagi paapdi, meethi laage re jwaar teri raabdi.....

    • Chhann: Chhand pai chhand, chhand pai aaangi, ek to lege, ek de dyo maangi.....

    • Kachri: Kaadvi kachri hey maa meri kaachi-kachchi, kadve sassad ke bol, bada duhela hey maa meri saasra......

  • Incidental:

    • Raanjhe: on incidents like haari-bimaari and gaon ke ujdne pe. Sung by gents (by Jogies and Dooms) in past.

    • Mrityu (jag-geet): e.g. - Mahaara buddha/buddhi rang chaa laagya he......

    • Mrityu (manjil pahunchana): e.g. - Haaye-haaye kela tod liya, haaye-haaye ban mein sher marya......

    • Mrityu (saanpa - apna dukh rona): on unexpected death of a young person......


Occasional:


  • Marriage:


    • Dada Kheda ko manana: for example:

      1. Paanch-pataashe longa ka joda, le khede pai jaaiyo ji, jis dhaali mahaara kheda betha, wa daali jhuk jaiyo ji.....

    • Saanjhi: for example:

      1. Desh jaanda ho dada pardesh jaaiye, mhaari Jodi ka var dhoondiye.....

    • Baanne: for example:

      1. Yubban banwada e nuydiye, ghar falana kai yu jaa......,
      2. Hey samndra ka taatta paani hey faalne ka beta nahaiyo.....

    • Bhaat-Bharai: for example:

      1. Kahiyo re us khaati ke ladke nai, paatda to laavye mhaare laal mein......,
      2. Meri jethani ke paanch bhaai, hey ri meri ma ja jaaya ekla.......

    • Seentne: for example:

      1. हमनै बलाए लांबे-लांबे, छोटे-छोटे आये री बछेरे!
      2. बाज्या-ए-नंगाडा फलाणे का, म्हारै बयाह्वण आये, आपणी बेबे नै छोड़ कें म्हारै ब्याहवण आये!
      3. बड़ा पढ़या ओ दादा बड़ा पढ़या, मार फलाह्री गधे चढ़या!
      4. फलाणे तेरी रे बेबे ब्याहिये, फेरां पै फूल बखेरिये!
      5. हमनै बलाए भूरे-भूरे, काले-काले आए री पस्सेरे ठठ्ठे आये री पस्सेरे बछेरे!!
      6. के मौसा जी थामे गाम गए थे, के ब्हाओं थे गाड्डी हो, बन्दडा सुथरा, पुराणा शेहरा, डूब मरे थारे भाती हो!
      7. म्हारी बन्दड़ी इस्सी खड़ी जाणू महल्या म्ह राणी खड़ी, थाहरा बन्दडा ईसा खड्या जाणू कुर्डीयाँ म्ह गधा खड्या!
      8. खोल ऊतणी के कांगणा, खोल बेशां की कांगणा!
      9. खिंडगी काक्कर-खिंडगे रौड़, खिंडगी जणेतियो थारी मरोड़!
      10. चुग ले काक्कर-चुग ले रोड़, चुग ले मौसा तेरी मरोड़!
      11. धोळी ह्वेली म्ह मोग ए मोग, बन्दडे की बेबे के लोग-ए-लोग!
      12. धोळी ह्वेली मोग बन्या, बन्दडे की बेबे लोग बना!
      13. पटडी ए पटड़ी मुस्सी जा, बन्दडे की बेबे रूस्सी जा, कान पकड़ कै लयावांगे, म्हारे वीर कै ब्याह्वांगे!
      14. आधी रोटी खांड बन्या, सारे जनेती रांड बना!
      15. फलाणे बेबे नै समझा ले हो, काब्बळइ चाल्दी, साड्डे लाम्बे-लाम्बे तूत, तूतां पै चढ़ी!

    • Boliyan-baari barsi: for example:

      1. Baari barsi - kathe gaya si, kathke lyaanda ber, falaane gaam (name of bride's abode) ki morni nai byaahvan aaya falaane gaam (name of groom's village) ka sher.....

    • Bidaai: for example:

      1. Saathan chaayl padi e mere dab-dab bhar aaye, aapni saathad nai main chundad manga dyun......,
      2. Re beera ek bai gheran mh jaaiye, aapni maayyad ki dheer bandhaiye usne ro-ro suja li aankh, beti to meri chaal padi.....
      3. मैँ तै गुड़िया भूली ओ बाब्बल तेरे आळए म.......म्हारी पोती खेलै हे धीयङ घर जा अपणै


  • Jachcha: for example:

    1. Koye maangi kadai na de, mera jee (man) haalwe nai......


  • Janam: for example:

    1. Ruidaar-mhaare ghalya ri paalna, jaage mhaare bhaag hoya ri mhaare laalna......


  • Chhati: for example:

    1. Jachcha ki jeebh chatori ghree-jalebi maange he......


  • Profession-ecstasy:

    • Desh-bhagti Geet: for example:

      1. Veer mere bharti ho jyaa re, tere baahr khade rangroot.....

    • Panghat: for example:

      1. Saat-jani ka hey maa meri jhumka, hey-ri meri sathad raani saaton paani nai jaa......


Festivals:




Theatre:


  • Open and Auditorium both formats: Sangs, Lokgeet, Ragnies, Aalhas, Bum Lahries, Nukkad-naatak, Etihasik Gathayen and Kisse, Noutanki, Ramlila,

  • Only open format: General Bhajan-sandhyaas, Arya-Samaaji Bhajan, Baaddiyon ke talwarbaaji aur jaan jokhim mein daalne waale tamaashe, Cycle ka khel, Dugdugiya ka khel, Saanp ka tamasha, Bandhu wala khel

  • Dances: Ghoomer (Phaagan), Dhmaal (Phaagan), Chhati ka Dance, Khodia (Baarat vidaai pe), Googa Dance (Badhuaa), Ghodi Nritay, Dhonsa (Byaah-shadi mein kushade ke aage ghudswaar ka nagada bajaate hue ghodi ko nachana)

  • Musical Instruments:

    • Mouth Organs: Algoza, Fiddle, Been, Turri

    • Hand Beaten: Ghadwa, Drum, Dugdugi, Deru, Taashe, Majire-Dhol, Nagaade, Dafli, Daf, Chimta, Tumba, Khanjri, Kalaarnet, Dhonsa, Dhons, Tassa, Khadtaal

    • Wire: Tara, Saarngi, Benju

    • Others: Ghunghroo, Harmonium, Jhunjhune, Talli-Ghanti (jangam jogi)

  • Modern Cinema:

    • Theatre: Students from village have been participating in various theatre events and youth festivals. Most famous of these programs are Ratnawali, Zonal, Inter-zonal and Inter-university Haryanvi theatres, Nukkad-naataks organized regularly by cultural department of Haryana government. 

    • Films: Haryanvi, Bollywood, Punjabi, Hollywood (original and dubbed both)

    • TV Shows: Shows of all genres
