NH Case Study - 2

Putting the children of farming community into main stream and learning process versus what if farmer’ current perspectives stay unchanged:

Life path to dreamed destiny for a child hailing from farming community has always been full of hazes and humps in comparison of a child coming from any other community. When you begin from agro-roots, reaching to city, city to metro cities and metro cities to international scenarios with limited guidance and sources, it takes you to live many births of transformations from one to another in one single life.

You need to amalgamate multi-scenarios:
  1. Your home language is different from your school, college and city life.

  2. Your home environment is totally different against what it had to be to match your study demands.

  3. Your professional attitude dwindles every single moment, while doing daily up and down between your village and city.

  4. Your friendship values and word of mouths are based on commitment and dedication in relation where as city one are driven by needs and influence.

  5. Your attitude is less dependent on human and more on God’s philosophy because of nature of your family profession, which in no way set fix to city mannerism. And adjusting it is a study course subject which is never taught in any level of education system.

  6. Very hard job to retain a balancing line when one side your family demands you to be in their ethics where as city and college ethics prove to be almost opposite or a new chapter to be installed and adopted in parallel or completely.

What is that which makes above 6 variants: Lets us compare the student life of a farmer child to that of a shopkeeper or so called businessman' child:

Sr.
Farmer Child
Shopkeeper Child
Life environement and learning from out of school/college hours
1
You do most of the time only physical chores in house like husbandry and working in field
You observe and most of the time do mental work by helping your father in shop or business
2
You learn nothing but mugging up with soil by working on spade and gain physical tiredness
You learn mathematics, data calculations, price/rates of different products, accounting
3
You gain only temper or tiredness, which you realise in your behavior when someone try to speak with you, consequently your oral skills start diminishing
You learn how to interact with people consequently how to deal with them, most of the learning with untired mind and body
4
You speak most of the time in harsh manner because you don’t want to do that job in your father's field especially against your wish
You learn how to convince people by speaking softly above that how to empty the pocket of your customer
5
As production of your crop depend on climatic conditions and God’s wishes so being everything of your own hardwork nothing is in your hand this is the nature of agri profession so by fact you don’t need to convince anyone else except God
Your profession’s base is public only so your customer is your god and speaking softly to them is your requirement, sometimes unwilling requirement
6
You come to college half-tired with scenes of fields and anger against own home churning in body which keeps you boiled in most of the time
You come with restful mind and calm temper in most of the cases.
7
Your back-home behavior drives you through college life which most of the time give impression of being harsh and impolite. You carry pressure of performing all the time
Your most of the job is done from home environment, same people, same course you have to do at school/college what you do at your father’s shop or business

And that is why most of the CA’s come from shopkeeper or so called business family backies. Whereas a farmer’s son can also become CA in same proportion if provided that environment through bringing them in front line. Before going to probable positive eradications of bringing them to front line let’s see what they are losing with current system and what are those scopes/moments where they miss the chance of learning:
  1. Mandi mediocre are seizing them from learning ultimately thrash them at back-foot: When a farmer brings his/her crops to mandies; needlessly to say that through how pathetic molestations he/she go through. Most of the cases they are not given a second chance to go to another broker, ultimately either compelled to sell their produce with already in agreement agent otherwise chances are fatal that you get a higher bid for your crop with another broker. And if you being a school/college goer is accompanying your father then you will engulf nothing but hatred, feel of disrespect and somewhat of molestation.

  2. You will never see you father/mother in a negotiating role but just on pity of what had offered by them. India might got independence in 1947 but you and your father are still gripped in these spiders. Do you think that until you get these things right, you or your coming generations will be grown with indepdent morale?

And what you being a farming hereditary furnaced in here:
  1. You are furnaced with a feel of being on the pity of others even in terms of prices of your produces.

  2. Government plays the rule of constant price for a crop all over the state, where as it should be according to geographic and climatic situation of each district a minimum. For example: The cost of production of a crop grown in Kurukshetra region (where water resources and climatic conditions are among best idealistic) can never be same let's say for same wheat crop grown somewhere in semi-desserts of Bhiwani (where you may need to spend more diesel for earth water harvesting and labor). And the volume of wheat produced in Bhiwani region can never be more than that is taken in Kurukshetra region, which again prove double decrease in profit for that farmer of semi-desserts, as farmer has to bear or adjust that variation arising from cost of production for same crop within same throughout state constant rate given by the government. How justifiable it is? And impact of this on that child goes very adversely and gives no sense of esteem in agri-business.

  3. If that you or your father might know all these costs-of-production all go in vain because their rates are already fixed by government. It not only creates impatience in them but make them feel humiliated which is no way coming to reduction since ages.

  4. When you see this haplessness of your parents, chances are higher that a line of disagreement is drawn between your two generations. And if not ask any such child from farmer community who is sensible to these issues.

  5. So very rare, charismatic kind of avatars only can survive in these regorisms. Otherwise full arrangements are made to make your life full of negatives or so called harsh and stubborn attitude. A life you are supposed to lead is of depressive disregards with feel of deprivation and orthodoxy.

So by keeping you avoid of this right, they are not only thrashing you away from learning process but breaking you mentally and getting two generations unattached on respect and emotions for each other.

Now what if right to price is given in hand of farmer, how this picture will change for their children and future farmers, let’s take above table as it is for the part of shopkeeper child and see the diffrence:

Sr.
Farmer Child
Shopkeeper Child
Life environement and learning from out of school/college hours
1
In addition to physical work, now you will have mental work also
You observe and most of the time do mental work by helping your father in shop or business

3
You learn how to interact with people consequently how to deal with them
You learn how to interact with people consequently how to deal with them, most of the learning with untired mind and body
4

5

Your profession’s base is public only so your customer is your god and speaking softly to them is your requirement, sometimes unwilling requirement
6
You may be physically tired but your motivations will be higher to learn maths and accounting with more attention.
You come with restful mind and calm temper in most of the cases
7

Your most of the job is done from home environment, same people, same course you have to do at school/college what you do at your father’s shop or business
Additional benefits
  1. Becoming a CA or finance expert will be game of children for you.

  2. Will get rid of each time haplessness and humiliation faced in mandies.

  3. You will be more intelligent as having the knowledge of back-story of products from fields too.

  4. You will start contributing in economic and agri policy making on remarkable scale.

  5. Consequently you IQ will be multiple times higher than that of any shopkeeper or businessman child.

  6. You are now the convener of God as well as public both.

Hope now you can easily see why farming community is labelled orthodox? So it’s not that farmer don’t have the mind, capability or attitude, they have everything but they are kept seized from developing those skills, because they are taken to serve others like a slave only and that too from centuries and seems for centuries. Better stand up and raise your voice and get this right for your own enhancement.

What difficulties farmers have to face in moving from current system of earning to new system?:
  1. Learning on how to define the cost of production will be the biggest challenge.

  2. Managing taxes will be the next. Both of these will not be big jobs as clearly shown above that when you would be having the motivation for learning, your concentration towards studies will be higher and automatically you learn all thes tricks in no time.
And that’s all. You are the real business man and can be the spine of nation’s economic body in more contributing manner.
